TikTok is adding new AI tools for businesses as part of its Symphony AI-powered ad solutions. One of these tools, Digital Avatars, allows brands to engage with followers and enhance their content marketing. TikTok is also launching a translation tool, Symphony AI Dubbing, and forming an advisory board to explore AI’s role in creative marketing.

TikTok aims to boost creativity and expand its reach globally using generative AI. Symphony Digital Avatars offer a new way for creators to work with brands on a global scale, promoting creativity and innovation.

Businesses can choose between Stock or Custom Digital Avatars. Stock Avatars are pre-built using paid actors, providing a quick and diverse human touch to content. Custom Avatars can be tailored to represent a brand’s specific spokesperson, supporting multiple languages like Spanish, French, German, and Japanese.

Stock Avatars can be created in the Symphony Creative Studio, where users can select various features such as industry type, body gesture, clothing style, and scene. TikTok then generates avatars that can be directly used in branded content.

For a more personalized approach, Custom Avatars are ideal. They are useful when a notable figure from a brand can’t film videos, allowing content marketers to use digital replicas localized for broader reach. This helps individual creators and brands produce more versatile, multi-language content.

Currently, only Stock Avatars are available through TikTok’s Beta Club for select brands. Custom Avatars are still being tested and have no set release date. These avatars will include a label indicating AI-generated content to combat misinformation, a policy TikTok introduced in May.

These new Digital Avatars provide a professional edge compared to TikTok’s 2022 animated avatars, while still allowing content creators new ways to express themselves.

In comparison to other AI avatar programs like Sprinklr, HubSpot, and Zendesk, TikTok’s offering focuses on one-way communication, enabling social media teams and creators to broadcast their message effectively. As TikTok’s Symphony program evolves, further enhancements to these avatars can be expected.

TikTok’s Symphony Creative Studio is also introducing Symphony AI Dubbing. This global translation tool supports ten languages, such as English, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. It detects the original language in a video, transcribes, translates, and produces dubbed videos, helping creators and brands reach international audiences.

Additionally, TikTok is launching an advisory board called Symphony Collective. This group includes representatives from various brands and agencies, as well as creators, to assist in understanding and developing AI for creative marketing. TikTok aims to leverage this board to improve its AI marketing solutions and tackle industry challenges.
