Udacity, an online learning platform based in Mountain View, California, has introduced a Generative AI Nanodegree Program to help professionals stay current in the rapidly evolving field of generative AI. The goal is to provide essential skills needed to navigate this dynamic area, which is expected to significantly influence various industries.
Since its start in 2011, Udacity has been offering online education, continually updating its curriculum in partnership with industry and academic leaders. The new Generative AI Nanodegree program is designed to meet the growing demand for generative AI skills, focusing on practical applications that can effectively transform industries.
The program will prepare professionals to utilize generative AI by offering real-world use cases and hands-on experience. A recent study by the Oxford Internet Institute highlighted the value of AI skills, showing a 21% wage increase for workers with high skill levels. Udacity’s program aims to inspire and equip professionals with these valuable skills.
Instructors for the program come from reputable organizations such as Advocate, Cape Analytics, DeepMind, Meta, NVIDIA, SoFi, UC Berkeley, and Udacity itself. Students will work on capstone projects that simulate real-life challenges and receive detailed feedback from experienced mentors.
The Generative AI Nanodegree program is available to All Access subscribers, granting access to a vast library of content, including over 80 Nanodegree programs, 350 courses, 370 real-world projects, and 2,500 skills. It requires intermediate Python and SQL programming skills, making it a technical, hands-on complement to the recently launched Generative AI for Business Leaders course. For those looking for a broader understanding, Udacity also offers the Generative AI Fluency course.
Ed Wiley, a seasoned professional with over 25 years in AI, data science, and engineering, is one of the instructors. He has held roles such as CIO, CTO, and Chief Data Scientist, and completed his doctorate at Stanford University. Valerie Scarlata, a Udacity technical content developer, contributed to the new Generative AI Nanodegree program.
Udacity’s range of Generative AI programs aims to transform imagination into impact, catering to engineers and executives alike.
