OpenAI is making bold moves to dominate the generative AI market for both large enterprises and small businesses. Today, the creator of ChatGPT is introducing a new subscription tier that fits perfectly between its ChatGPT Plus plan for individual users ($20 per month) and its ChatGPT Enterprise plan for larger organizations (pricing varies, often quoted at $60 per user per month).

The new ChatGPT Team tier is priced at $30 per user per month when billed monthly, with an annual billing discount of $5 per user per month.

According to press materials shared with VentureBeat prior to today’s ChatGPT Team announcement, the service includes:

– Access to GPT-4 with a 32K context window
– Tools like DALL·E 3, GPT-4 with Vision, Browsing, Advanced Data Analysis, and higher message limits
– No training on your business data or conversations
– A secure workspace for your team
– The ability to create and share custom GPTs within your workspace
– An admin console for workspace and team management
– Early access to new features and updates

OpenAI has already been quietly testing ChatGPT Team with a select group of customers, and the company is eagerly promoting the positive feedback from these early users.

Notable testimonials from early customers include:

Connor O’Brien, VP of GTM Strategy & Operations at Sourcegraph, mentioned how ChatGPT is extensively used across various aspects of their business, from financial modeling and communication to board preparation and recruitment, significantly speeding up their operations.

Dr. John Brownstein, Chief Innovation Officer at Boston Children’s Hospital, highlighted how ChatGPT Team has enabled them to pilot innovative GPTs that boost productivity and collaboration, enhancing the overall care provided by their doctors, researchers, students, and administrative staff.

Additionally, OpenAI is keen to showcase the growing adoption of its ChatGPT Enterprise product, with companies such as Block, Canva, Carlyle, The Estée Lauder Companies, PwC, and Zapier among its users.

Despite numerous vendors offering generative AI services powered by open-source models like Meta’s Llama or Mistral’s Mixtral, ChatGPT aims to be the first choice for companies of any size when selecting AI services for internal use and deployment. The introduction of ChatGPT Team is a natural progression for the upcoming year.
