Softbank-backed Picsart has moved beyond traditional photo editing into AI-powered content creation. The company recently introduced Ignite, a suite of over 20 AI tools aimed at inspiring creativity and speeding up digital content creation for both businesses and individuals.

Accessible via the Picsart website and mobile app, Ignite builds on the company’s existing AI tools. It provides a comprehensive solution for teams to create, edit, and enhance content — including social media posts, ads, and logos — with minimal effort.

Picsart’s founder and CEO, Hovhannes Avoyan, emphasized their belief in universal creativity, aiming to provide users with powerful yet simple tools for expressing their visions. These features were designed to help users transform their ideas into stunning visual content, whether for business ads, memes, or anything in between.

This launch coincides with a trend where many digital content companies are integrating generative AI into their offerings. Picsart initially ventured into AI with tools like AI Writer for generating text content, AI Image Generator for creating images from text prompts, and AI Replace for modifying images with AI-generated elements.

With Ignite, Picsart has expanded its offerings, adding advanced editing tools that enhance image quality, remove objects from images and videos, and change backgrounds. New AI filters for both videos and photos are also available.

One of Ignite’s standout features is its new generative capabilities. Users can now create GIFs and stickers from text prompts, extend image boundaries, and make personalized avatars from selfies. The GIF generation feature is powered by Picsart’s open-sourced text-to-video model.

For businesses and digital marketers, Ignite offers AI-driven tools to generate visually striking QR codes, branded texts, logos, and complete advertisements, including images and ad copies. Users can also combine the artistic style of one image with another’s subject, enhancing creativity.

These new AI tools are available on Picsart’s web, Android, and iOS platforms, and it will be interesting to see how users leverage these features. Picsart aims to provide a comprehensive AI-powered platform that meets the digital content needs of businesses, similar to offerings from Adobe and Canva.

The initial response to Picsart’s AI tools, particularly for image generation, has been positive, with the tool generating over 2 million images daily. Picsart also offers SketchAI, a product that uses AI to turn images and sketches into artistic renditions.

According to Grand View Research, advancements in AI-based tooling are propelling the global content creation market, which is expected to reach $69.8 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 13.5% from 2023 to 2030. Other factors contributing to this growth include the rise of cloud computing and increased smartphone and internet usage.
